The Alger Community Recycling Committee in cooperation with Michigan EGLE,
Superior Watershed Partnership, Alger Conservation District, Munising Public
School and Library and UPPCO will be hosting an ELECTRONIC WASTE (E-Waste)
and Freon containing APPLIANCE COLLECTION on
June 17th 4:00pm – 8:00pm and June 18th 8:00am – 12:00pm
It’s critical to keep electronic waste and appliances out of landfills.
Electronic devices and Freon appliances contain toxic substances and heavy
metals. Materials such as Freon, chromium, cadmium, mercury and lead
contaminate air, soil and waterways.
Items that will be accepted June 17th & 18th include:
♻ Computer Monitors
♻ CPUs
♻ Tablets
♻ Televisions - $5 fee
♻ CRT Monitors - $5 fee
♻ Radios
♻ Telephones
♻ Cell Phones
♻ Copy Machines / Scanners
♻ Fax Machines
♻ Stereos
♻ Video Game Systems
♻ DVD, VCR and CD Players
♻ Routers
ALSO ACCEPTED for UPPCO BILL CREDITS:
♻ Refrigerators
♻ Freezers
♻ Dehumidifiers
Air Conditioners
Data containing devices will be securely managed. You are encouraged to
remove any sensitive or personal information from hard drives, etc. using
internal software for computers and phones.
Now is the time to properly dispose of E-WASTE and Freon APPLIANCES.
